Handok and the Handok Jeseok Foundation, the company’s non-profit public interest corporation, will host the Airplane Mode Concert on July 20, 2023, at Handok Future Complex in Magok, Seoul.

The Airplane Mode Concert is designed for office workers exhausted from their busy lives and the summer heat to enjoy a light-hearted break on their way home from work. The concert will run for about an hour, beginning at 7:30 pm and featuring a variety of performances about traveling and the forest. The concert is free and open to the public. Registration is open until July 11 on Handok’s website. Participants selected through a lottery will be contacted individually.

The Concert will feature violist and conductor Jin Yunil and the professional performance team, the Academy of Passion & Sharing. Jin is on the panel of judges for the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians and is a former chief conductor of the Mokpo Symphony Orchestra. The Academy of Passion & Sharing was founded in 2012 by a group of professional musicians with the aim of sharing their passion for music with audiences. It holds regular concerts on an annual basis at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and the Seoul Arts Center, and develops content combining classical with other genres of music.

In this concert, the Academy of Passion and Sharing will perform not only authentic classics by Mozart, Schubert, and others, but also popular and soundtrack music, including Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon, Memory from the musical Cats, and Shostakovich’s Waltz from Jazz Suite No. 2.
